Larry Wrinkles

Larry Wrinkles, son of the late Clifford and Esther Wrinkles, was born Sep. 1, 1947, in Norwood, and departed this life on Jan. 29, 2025, in Houston, following a lengthy illness. He was 77 years, 4 months and 28 days of age. Larry enjoyed many hobbies. His love of hunting and fishing began in Champion, where he was raised. Larry went to school at Champion, Skyline and finished high school in Ava. Following high school, Larry moved to Kansas City and began several of his most favorite hobbies: restoring and racing cars and playing softball. While living in Kansas City, Larry worked at a different jobs like maintenance work at the hospital and welding for a sprinkler systems company, just to name a couple. On March 1, 1964, by the Bryant Creek bridge, Larry made what he considered the most important decision of his life as he was baptized and added to the Lord’s church with the help of Bro. Joe Howard. Larry continued to be a faithful member for the rest of his days. Larry married the love of his life, Teresa Sartor-Reese, on July 17, 1987, in Champion. He became the step-dad of two beautiful children, Doug and Ashley Reese.
Besides his parents, Larry was preceded in death by brothers, Lonnie Mears and Donnie Mears; one sister-in-law, Verla Mears; and one niece, Linda Mears. Larry is survived by his wife, Teresa Wrinkles, of Vanzant; step-son, Doug Reese and wife, Karen, and their son, Quinton, of Waverly, Tenn.; step-daughter, Ashley Reese, of Wilmington, N.C.; niece, Deanna Harris and husband, Greg, and their son, Gavin, of Overland Park, Kan.; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Sarah Sartor, of Norwood; as well as a host of friends and brothers and sisters in Christ who will miss him very much. Funeral services for Larry Wrinkles were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, in the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove with Bro. Todd Richardson and Bro. Chad Hale officiating. Burial was in the Denlow Cemetery in Douglas County under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
