Lana Christine Rogers

Lana Christine Rogers was born to E.P. and Ila Tucker on Nov. 13, 1942, in Concord, Calif. She passed away on Nov. 19, 2024, in Graff. When she was two months old, the family made a move to Durant, Okla., following her dad’s enlistment in the military. She was lovingly called “Tootsie” by her father. The family continued to move to various places as Chris grew. She eventually settled in Missouri as an adult. She was united in marriage to Wesley “Junior” Rogers on Sep. 28,1976. Four children were born to this union. Chris enjoyed a variety of hobbies and interests. These led her to become a member of the Bendavis Church of Christ in Missouri for several years, Manes Music Makers and the Piney Swingers Square Dancers. Her interests were motivated by her tender heart toward living creatures. This was evident in her admiration of the deer and raccoons she watched in the fields.  It also propelled her into action in the form of rescuing birds, squirrels, and many other species. She demonstrated her love of indigenous people’s culture through creating Native American jewelry. In addition to these interests, she found time to tend the flowers in her garden, farm cattle and ride horses, all of which she loved dearly.
Not surprisingly, her dogs were her best friends. Lana’s hobbies included painting in the technique of the Bob Ross’ “happy tree,” crocheting and sewing. Playing cards was a way for her to unwind, and the game of Pitch was a particular favorite of hers. Colorado was Chris’ favorite place to visit, and she often shared that adventure with her grandchildren. In 2023, she was able to take her final trip to Colorado with her son, Mike. She shared how important that trip was to her because she knew it would be her last trip. The precious memories created by these sightseeing trips to escape the Missouri heat will resonate through her family for years to come. They will all hold them close to their hearts.
Chris was preceded in death by her parents, E.P. and Ila Tucker; husband, Wesley “Junior” Rogers; her daughter, Gina Reed; and one great-granddaughter, Mazi Grace. She is survived by her three sons, Michael Lewis and wife, Kunkun, Cody Tollison and wife, Michelle, Jim Tollison and wife, Kim; 16 grandchildren, Brandy Caudle and husband, Russell, Josh Shannon and wife, Angela, Annie Hicks and husband, Doyle, Dustin Shannon and Jessica Phillips, Randi Lynn Moore, Michael Thompson, Savannah Eaton, Shannon Lewis, Corey Tollison, Cody Dale Tollison, Brantley Tollison, Gabriella Tollison, Jada Moore, Nick Travis, Mikey Travis and Nichole Toledo; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Chris Rogers was held Sunday, Nov. 24, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove. Graveside service was held Monday, Nov. 25, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Green Mountain Cemetery, with Bro. Ed Williamson officiating. Pallbearers were Dustin Shannon, Josh Shannon, Russell Caudle, Cody Dale Tollison, Corey Tollison and Shawn Caudle, and an honorary pallbearer was Kolby Woods.
Memorial contributions may be made to Three Rivers Hospice in care of the funeral home.
