Kirk Eugene McCallister

Kirk Eugene McCallister, son of the late Harold Eugene McCallister and Willa Corrine (Coble) Reese-Coones, was born Dec. 9, 1956, in Wright County, Missouri. He passed away Dec. 1, 2024, in Mountain Grove, at the age of 67. Kirk did carpentry and construction work for many years in the Mountain Grove area. He loved playing softball earlier in life. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting in his spare time. He was baptized in the Topaz Creek on June 11, 1995.
Besides his parents, Kirk was preceded in death by three siblings, Eugenia McClure, Jimmy Reese and Sally Mason. Kirk is survived by one son, Eric Love and wife Lori, of Midland, Texas; three grandchildren, Kaven, Irianna and Juliahna Love, of Midland, Texas; one brother, Dean Reese and wife, Janay, of Mountain Grove; one sister; Kelley Casas and husband, Servando, of Mountain Grove; stepmother, Mary McCallister, of Mountain Grove; long-time companion, Donna Hazlett; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends who will miss him greatly. A memorial service for Kirk McCallister was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, at the Mountain Grove Family Church with Pastor Terry Ramming officiating. Special songs were “Amazing Grace.” “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “To The Table.” Arrangements were under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove.
