Donald Junior Dugger

Donald Junior Dugger
Donald Junior Dugger was born on Sep. 21, 1932, to Gurvis and Elsie (Welch) Dugger in Hartville. He passed away on Feb. 26, 2025, at his home at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 5 days. He married Sarrah “Naomi” Ratterree on Aug. 29, 1957. They were blessed with two daughters, Karen Sue and Teresa Kay. Don had been a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church since 1957. He loved the Lord and served him most of his life. Don had an ornery streak and enjoyed teasing his family. This trait was something he passed on to his descendants, but he was also a very hard worker. If there was work to be done, Don could be counted on to get it done. He worked on his dairy and beef cattle farm and truly loved it. It was a part of who he was. Don greatly loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was considered the family rock.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Gurvis and Elsie Dugger; three brothers, Ivan, Russell and Lloyd Dugger; one grandson, Brent Benson; two great-grandsons, Caleb and Isaac Benson; two great-granddaughters, Paislee Murray and Lauren Toth. He is survived by his wife, Naomi; two daughters, Karen Benson and husband, Mike, Teresa Murray and husband, Keith; two grandsons, Robert Murray, and Terry Murray and wife, Jackie; two granddaughters, Amanda Rhoads and husband, Josh, and Sarrah Wasie and husband, Mark; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; and many friends and family that will dearly miss him. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church in Graff, with Bro. Frankie McCune officiating. Special songs will be “Tears Will Not Stain The Streets,” “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder” and “I’ll Meet You In The Morning” all performed by The McCunes. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Murray, Terry Murray, Tony Dugger, Tom Ratterree, Keith Turner and Larry Ratterree. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery in Graff. The family has requested that donations be made in his memory to Hopewell Cemetery c/o Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Services and burial will be under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
