Danny Duane Divine Jr.

Danny Duane Divine Jr., of Hartville, was born on Oct. 31, 1965, and departed this life on June 2, 2026, at the age of 60. He passed away at Cox South Hospital, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. As a child, he was an active member of 4-H and served as president. He graduated from Hartville High School with the Class of 1984. Danny was lovingly known by many friends and family as “Dobber.” He developed an early passion for truck pulling and spent many years traveling throughout the Midwest competing with different trucks. Following high school, Danny attended Oklahoma State University Technical School, where he graduated at the top of his class as a machinist with an Associate In Applied Science Degree in Manufacturing Technology. He then worked as a machinist in Tulsa, Okla. for a couple years before pursuing a career that would become his true passion—over-the-road trucking. Danny eventually established his own company, Trey D Trucking, and spent many years hauling oversized heavy equipment across the United States with his beloved cats as his copilots. He treasured the many lasting friendships he made throughout his years on the road. He continued to truck until his health began to fail. Danny obtained his Federal Firearms license while trucking and founded Trey D Guns and Ammo. He devoted much of his time and energy to growing the business and serving the community for many years. For 14 years, he was an active member of the Hartville Lions Club. One of his proudest accomplishments was developing the club’s “30 Guns in 30 Days” raffle fundraiser, which helped provide significant funding for improvements to Hartville City Park, including new playground equipment and the splash pad. Danny made a profession of faith surrounded by family.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Otis and Dorothy Divine and Howard and Vernice Hembree; and his uncles, Johnny Hembree and Larry Divine. Danny is survived by his parents, Dan Divine and wife, Sheila, and Sue Allison and husband, Gary; his brother, Russell Divine and wife, LaDon; his sister, Kim Williams and husband, Jeff; his nieces, McKenzi Moore and husband, Kelby, Cassidy Williams and Skylar Divine; and his nephews, Weston Williams and Layla, and Wyatt Williams and wife, Kylie; great-niece, Isla; and great-nephews, Dawson and Riggins; and two step-brothers, Derek Day and wife, Michelle, and Brian O’Dell and wife, Kenna. Danny was a beloved son, brother, uncle, neighbor and friend. He will be deeply missed and always remembered by all who knew him. Visitation for Danny Divine Jr. was held Friday, June 5, 2026, from 6-8 p.m. at Little Creek Baptist Church, Hartville. Funeral service was held Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Little Creek Baptist Church, Hartville, with Gary Dedmon and Carl Widner officiating. Burial was in Little Creek Cemetery, Hartville. Memorial contributions may be made to Hartville Lion’s Club or Little Creek Cemetery.
