Pirates’ baseball season ends early

The Norwood Pirates’ baseball team entered last week’s Summit Conference Tournament with a three game winning streak.
Unfortunately, their fall season came to an end early in the first round as they fell to Gainesville, 5-2.
Norwood scored two late runs, but their rally fell short.
Caden Black and Drae Bradshaw each had one RBI while Pierce Lawson and Carder Kelly both scored one run.
On the mound, Norwood’s Laken Coatney tossed five innings and gave up three earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and one walk. Black tossed a scoreless inning in relief.
Conway would end up winning this year’s Summit Conference Tournament title.
Norwood’s season ended with a 5-4 overall record.
