Lady Pirates have focus on returning to Final Four

The Norwood Lady Pirates’ basketball team is returning five players  who are coming off their third trip to the Class 2 Final Four and are hoping to return one more time during the 2025-2026 season.
Jayden Chambers returns with the ability to guard all five positions. She also won the Class 1 state championship in cross country this fall.
Gentry Davault, standing at 6’1”, returns again to the post.
Kalie Chadwell looks to be a key scorer and Addy Gray is set to handle some guard duties.
Jaycee Hall and Lydia Harden also return and are ready to make an impact for a team that had 25 wins a season ago.
Norwood head coach Wayne Jessen says his team’s goals are unchanged as their focus is on winning the Summit Conference, a district title and win the Final Four.
“We have five players who have a tremendous amount of varsity experience that should help them through the adversity they’ll face during this season,” Coach Jessen noted.
The players they lost to graduation were Autumn Gunter, Quinncy Vestal and Gracie Gray.
Gunter is currently playing for Mission University.
Norwood hosted Glendale just after press time on Nov. 24 on their home court.
They will participate in the Sixth Annual Crane Lady Pirates Invitational from Dec. 1-6.
