Sister-in-laws open mobile drink trailer

Earlier this month, sister-in-laws, Taylor McLear and Karley Linton, of Mountain Grove, opened their mobile drink trailer to the public. The Sippin’ Station currently offers coffees (iced and hot), lemonades and dirty sodas.
The idea for The Sippin’ Station was born two years ago in a casual conversation between McLear and Linton.
“We were sitting in my kitchen and decided that we wanted to open some sort of mobile business ran out of a remodeled trailer,” McLear said. “As big coffee gals, it was kind of a given that we would end up doing something like this.”
Time passed, and the idea was put on the back burner. But when a friend of McLear’s reached out with news of a for sale 1984 horse trailer, the light bulb flicked on once again.
The trailer was purchased, and it wasn’t long before McLear’s kitchen smelled of peppermint and vanilla.
“We spent over 20 hours making and testing drinks,” Linton said. “We really wanted to get the menu right for the customers.”
The menu offers 20 total drinks, each with its own unique name. Some of the most popular include The Cinnamon Roll, which is brown sugar cinnamon and white chocolate mocha; The CPC, Coca-Cola with peach flavoring and coconut cream; and Feelin’ Peachy, a lemonade with peach flavoring and a fresh slice of lemon.
“More is going to be added to the menu in the future,” McLear said.
McLear, who is part-owner of Level 48 Styling Co., is no stranger to the business world.
She emphasized her excitement about working with her sister-in-law for this business venture.
“This whole process has been nothing but fun,” McLear said.
“We laugh almost the whole time and it’s so great to be received so well by the community.”
Locally-owned businesses are often at the forefront of the conversation when it comes to small-town affairs, and both Linton and McLear are well aware of that.
“It can be hard for small business owners in this day and age, but we really just wanted to give our customers a local alternative to the big corporate chains,” Linton said.
McLear and Linton stated they have big plans for The Sippin’ Station – “ones bigger than a 12’ trailer,” according to McLear.
The Sippin’ Station is available for travel to events of all kinds in southern Missouri, including weddings, proms and birthday parties.
