Filings to be accepted for April 2025 elections

Filing officially begins on Dec. 10 for election races throughout Wright County that will be held on April 8, 2025. The deadline to file to an upcoming race is Dec. 31.
Mountain Grove
In the City of Mountain Grove, there are seven positions up for election.
Incumbent Mayor Fred VanBibber has his seat up for election with a four-year term.
Two-year term seats are up for election featuring Webb Friend (Ward I, who is serving a second term), Ward II (Jamie Davis, in first term) and Zach Hurtt (Ward III, in first term). Tammy Kuster (Ward IV, in first term) has a two-year term.
A four-year term position of Marshall/Ex Officio Collector, currently held by Danny Bledsoe, is also up for election.
As for the Mountain Grove R-III School Board, there are two positions with a three-year term. Both are currently held by Howard Hawkins and Jay Loveland.
There is also a one-year term currently held by Shawna Plummer, who was appointed the seat after Shannon Shaner announced that she was leaving in December.
Mansfield
All but one City Council seat is up for election next April for the City of Mansfield. An unexpired four-year term is up for election for the mayoral position. Mayor Pro Tem Derrick Neal is currently filling in for Amanda Moody, who resigned from her position just one year into her term.
There are two-year terms currently being held by Luke Lawson (Ward II) and Tammy Barrett (Ward II), who was appointed for an open seat.
Appointed Justin Thomas (Ward I) has his seat up for election as well.
In the Mansfield R-III School Board race, there are two, three-year terms currently held by Zach Miller and Doug Tripp.
Hartville
There’s a large number of positions up for election for the City of Hartville.
The mayoral position, with incumbent Jessica Vandergrift, is up for election for a two-year term.
At-Large two-year term seats are also up for election with Melvin Moon, who has been alderman for 14 years, and Jeff Bettendorf, an alderman for nine years. Lindell Howard’s two-year seat will also be on the ballot.
There are two, one-year term seats up for election, currently held by Terisa Tooley and Jarrett Calton.
There are three positions up for election for the Hartville R-II School District.
There are two, three-year School Board positions, currently held by Dustin Arnall and Jeff Palmer.
A one-year term position is up for election, held by Dylan Curtis.
Norwood
In the City of Norwood, Mayor Steven Jarrett has his four-year term position up for election.
There are also two, two-year term aldermen positions set to be elected. (No names provided for the positions by press time.)
As for the Norwood R-I School District, there are a few positions up for election. They include a vacant seat with a one-year term as well as two, three-year term seats. Debbie Shelton has been in her position since 2016 and R.A. Bradshaw has served since 2021.
Other
There are two positions up for election in the Manes R-V School District as both are one-year terms. (No incumbent names provided as of press time.)
