Hartville Eagles struggle on diamond in Conway Fall Classic

The Hartville Eagles baseball team opened their fall season by dropping a pair of contests in the Conway Fall Classic.
Their lone win was a convincing 15-0 victory over Conway’s JV squad.
Both TJ Kline and Brodyn Hulsey led the offense with two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored; Heston Lowery had one RBI and scored twice; Dallas Jordan and Cole Sinning had one RBI and one run scored; while Maddox Jones scored three times and Trey Smith scored twice.
Sinning tossed four innings of shutout ball and gave up two hits with 10 strikeouts and one walk.
They followed the win with a tough 14-6 loss to Gainesville as the Eagles’ defense committed six errors.
Hartville trailed 9-6 before the Bulldogs pulled away with a five-run fifth inning.
Jones had three RBIs, Smith had one RBI and one run scored; Lowery added one RBI; and Hunter Walker scored twice.
On the mound, Lowery tossed two and two-thirds innings and gave up six earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and one walk.
Sinning tossed one and two-thirds innings of shutout ball and gave up three hits with two strikeouts. Walker tossed a scoreless and hitless inning and struck out two with one walk. Jones tossed two-thirds of an inning and gave up four earned runs on two hits with one walk.
In a match-up with Crocker, the Lions scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning for a 5-4 win. Hartville’s defense had six more errors in this loss as well.
Hulsey had three hits, one RBI and one run scored; Walker had two RBIs; and Sinning had one RBI and one run scored.
Walker tossed six innings and gave up one earned run on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
Another three errors doomed Hartville after the tournament in a 10-0 loss to Licking.
The Eagles’ offense had just one hit.
Hulsey tossed four innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and four walks. Sinning tossed two scoreless innings and gave up one hie with two strikeouts. Lowery tossed one inning and gave up four earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and one walk.
