Two Panthers compete at Class 3 state
Two Mountain Grove golfers competed in a field of nearly 100 golfers at the Class 3 State Championships held May 18-19 at the Sedalia Country Club.
The pair of Panthers had to battle some weather issues, but managed to have competitive scores in the two-day event.
Leedy Curtis led Mountain Grove by shooting an 83 on day one and an 82 on day two for a 165. This earned him 63rd place at the event.
Mason Henry struggled on day one with a 90, but rallied to shoot a solid 83 on day two for a 173.
This was good for 81st place.
This brings to an end the spring 2026 season for the Panthers’ golf team.
“Had a great season with lots of growth as a team and individually,” said Mountain Grove head golf coach Cody Whittaker.
“Very proud of the effort the boys put in this year as we were able to win our home tournament for the first time in many seasons. I’m also excited for where we are going as a team into the future.”
