MMM home in Hartville catches fire, leads to fundraising effort

A fire destroys this home in Hartville located just behind the Wright County Courthouse.

A recent Hartville fire has displaced more than 20 men who were currently living in a ministry home. Two weeks ago, the Tommy Farmer house, a historical Hartville home, caught fire and suffered a total loss.
It was serving as a ministry home for the Mountain Moving Ministry and the MMM was set to purchase the Hope house and property this month, this according to the Community Betterment Foundation in Hartville.
“We are so deeply saddened by the total loss of our beloved Hope House, but so thankful that no one was injured and the guys have a place to go,” was in a social media post for the CBF. “The Hope House has been the start of a recovery journey for hundreds of people over the years. When we first bought the house, it was just a pretty wild dream for the future, and the intense work ahead felt impossible. But our God does impossible things and He even makes them look easy. He’s the one who provides for our organization and He does it in creative ways we could never think of on our own. That’s the way it’s been from the very beginning, and we know that He won’t stop now! Restoration is God’s business! We have been so blessed to minister to and be ministered to by the men and women that have came through the house. Even though this is the end of an era, we believe God is about to do something new.”
The 21 men who were living in the home have temporarily moved to he MMM house in Ava.
“We are actively working with the MMM board of directors to seek direction from the Lord and to formulate a new plan,” the CBF went on to say in a statement. “We don’t know what’s ahead, but these men are like family to our community and we will do everything we can to help them.”
