Janet M. Ladd

Janet M. Ladd, 78, a long time resident of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 in the home of her daughter, Amye. She was born Aug. 1, 1946 in Mountain Grove, the daughter of George and Edrie (Galloway) Lindholm. Janet was a 1964 graduate of Mountain Grove High School, and in 1968, received a bachelors degree from Southwest Missouri State College (now MSU). On April 29, 1977, she and Donald Earl “Archie” were married. He preceded Janet in death on April 14, 2020. In 2000, Janet retired after 32 years of service as a social worker for the State of Missouri. Janet was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, attending all ball games and activities for Amye and her granddaughters. She was a talented seamstress and took pride in altering uniforms, always completed perfectly. She made Christmas stockings and blankets for family members and friends. Janet was always willing to help with the family farm - keeping records, raising orphaned calves, and preparing meals when there was farm work to be done. She never wanted anyone to leave from her table hungry. She loved college basketball, especially the Duke Blue Devils.
