Mountain Grove Golf looks for link success

Mountain Grove’s golf team is returning five starters from a Panthers’ squad that earned a third place finish in the South Central Association (SCA) Conference last spring.
Returners include Jaxyn Proctor (four years), three-year player Leedy Curtis along with second year players Mason Henry, Brady Anderson, Brady Harris and Aidan Kumpula.
Other golfers looking to help the 10-player squad this season include Kyler Kumpula, Canyon Jarrett, Riley Anderson and Joey Kennedy.
“I would like to see my team grow and develop while trying to win some tournaments or place as individuals at each tournament we attend,” said Mountain Grove head coach Cody Whittaker.
“I would like to continue competing at high levels in conference play and achieve more success at districts this year.”
Starting the season
Mason Henry placed second and Brady Anderson placed third in a nine-hole meet held March 25 in Mountain View.
The top five scores show Henry with a 39, Brady Anderson with a 41, both Harris and Curtis shot a 44 and Proctor added a 48 for the Mountain Grove Panthers.
Aidan Kumpula had a 53 to lead JV golfers.
