Hartville softball outscores three opponents, 47-18

The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team, who competes in districts in the fall, opened up their spring season schedule with three wins after outscoring their opponents, 47-18.
A 20-hit attack helped them crush Cabool, 22-3.
McKenzi Stigall had three hits, four RBIs and four runs scored; Katia Todd added four hits, three RBIs and scored four times; Saige Petty had three RBIs and one run scored; Sarah Palmer tallied three hits, three RBIs and three runs scored; both Brielle Kline and Claire Dickinson had two RBIs and two runs scored; Peyton Dudley scored three times; Maddie Brown had two RBIs and one run scored; while Haddie Ward had one RBI and scored twice.
Palmer tossed three innings on the mound and gave up two earned runs on one hit with three strikeouts and five walks. Petty tossed a scoreless inning and had one strikeout.
They opened their season by crushing Stoutland, 16-0, after plating 12 runs in the bottom of the second inning.
Kline, Todd and Stigall each had two RBIs and scored three times; Palmer had one RBI and scored twice; Dudley had two RBIs and one run scored; Petty had three RBIs and one run scored; while Ward had one RBI and one run scored.
Palmer tossed three innings of shutout ball and gave up one hie with three strikeouts.
In a big win where they handed Plato their lone loss of the season, Hartville picked up a 9-6 victory.
Palmer hit a grand slam and had four RBIs and one run scored while Todd hit a solo home run and finished with one RBI and two runs scored.
Kline added two RBIs and two runs scored; Stigall scored twice; and Dudley had one RBI.
On the mound, Palmer tossed seven innings and gave up three earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and three walks.
