Diana Gail (Lawson) Mabe-Heubel

Diana Gail (Lawson) Mabe-Heubel, daughter of the late Gerald and Elsie (Crewse) Lawson, was born July 10, 1949, in Mountain Grove. She went to her heavenly home on March 11, 2025, at her home in Marshfield, at the age of 75. Gail attended the Crewse School in Graff, and graduated with the Mountain Grove High School Class of 1967. She attended beauty school for a short time in Springfield on a scholarship. Gail was united in marriage to Donald Mabe on Oct. 28, 1968. One daughter, Melissa Dawn Mabe, was born to this union. Gail worked for Viatech Publishing Solutions in Springfield for 18 years. She was a great cook, who was always happy to fix anything she had for her family and friends. Due to her declining health in recent years, she was prevented from doing what she loved, sharing with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her brother, Clyde Duane Lawson. Gail is survived by her daughter, Melissa “Lisa” Higdon; two grandsons, Garret and Taylor Higdon; siblings, Les Lawson (Shellie), Deby Peterson (Rusty), Janet Strunk (Terry) and Doug Lawson; and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, in the Friendship Cemetery of Mountain Grove with the Rev. Charles Horton officiating. Special songs were “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Lead Me Home.” Les Lawson, Doug Lawson, Rusty Peterson, Terry Strunk, Garret Higdon, Bruce Horton and Kirk Lawson served as pallbearers. Arrangements were under the direction of the Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home of Mountain Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Gail.
