Wright County Journal wins four state awards

Wright County Journal owner/publisher Ron Schott, left, receives his state advertising awards from Missouri Press Advertising and Marketing Executives (MPAME) President Stephanie Schumer-Vandeven.

The Wright County Journal earned four awards in the 2025 Missouri Press Advertising and Marketing Executives (MPAME) Best Ad Contest.
Ron Schott, the newspaper’s owner and publisher, accepted the awards on behalf of the publication at an awards ceremony held Thursday, April 10 in St. Louis.
The Wright County Journal earned a first place plaque in Class 2 for its Best Shared/Signature Page featuring the Tri-County Fair.
In going up against all class sizes, the Wright County Journal’s Classified Section earned a second place honor in the statewide contest.
Finally, in the Best Ad Smaller Than A ¼ Page category, the Wright County Journal earned both second and third place honors. Their Community First Bank ad that ran in the youth deer section was second place in the state. An ad saluting veterans for McKinley’s Body Shop received third place honors. All of the awards were attributed to Schott, who designed each entry.
“It’s always humbling to be honored by my peers in an industry that has been such a blessing to my family now for more than two decades,” Schott said. “We try to provide quality advertisements for our advertisers. These awards reflect those efforts. To God be the glory.”
