Jiu-Jitsu Outlet opens with seminar in Mountain Grove

On Aug. 16, the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet, located on the square at 103 E. 2nd St. in Mountain Grove, held a launch party.
The seminar gave attendees the opportunity to enjoy a free day of drilling and rolling. It also allowed for younger participants to engage in exercise regimens. The seminar featured demonstrations of essential self-defense techniques focused on de-escalation and appropriate reactions.
Experienced instructors also showcased proper Jiu-Jitsu techniques, including transitions, positioning and submissions. Towards the end of the seminar, attendees had the opportunity to safely roll with others, grab a bite to eat from a nearby food truck, ask questions about the program and secure a membership if desired. Interested individuals could choose a one-month membership or pay for several months upfront, receiving a free uniform as part of an enticing offer.

More on the location
For more than four years, the Jiu-Jitsu Outlet has been building confidence, strength, and a sense of belonging, introducing the world of Jiu-Jitsu not only to the local community, but also to anyone, anywhere, who engages with their valuable content on YouTube.
Paul Tokgozoglu transformed his life through the practice of Jiu-Jitsu. Through discipline, mastery, and skill, Paul found a new meaning in life, and he wondered if others experienced similar transformations. In 2021, he began his YouTube journey, asking well-traveled martial artists how their craft had changed their lives. His goal was not just to gather information, but also to share these inspiring stories with others around the world, not for profit or pride, but to motivate others.
The story of Jiu-Jitsu Outlet alone is enough to inspire dedication, even before its first location opened in Houston. Founding members recount the slow progression from a small group of aspiring trainees working alongside Michael Morgan at TR Fitness, who generously provided mats and equipment to help the outlet get started. In 2023, Jiu-Jitsu Outlet’s Houston location had its grand opening, and two years later, in March of this year, they opened their Salem location. Now, with the most recent opening of their location in Mountain Grove, they have found a surge in popularity following their opening seminar. When asked why Mountain Grove was chosen for the next site, Paul expressed a desire to bring Jiu-Jitsu training back to the community, particularly since the program at TR Fitness had faced challenges due to Michael’s health issues. Paul aims to “carry the torch for the community” that Michael once held.
Another contributor is coach Marshal Kemp, who is an “infamous” pro MMA fighter based out of Mountain Grove.
