Honoring Wright County veterans at the Capitol

A Missouri State Resolution honoring Wright County veterans was presented to veteran Roscoe “Rocky” Griffin, third from left, who was joined by his wife, Karen, second from left. State Rep. Melissa Schmidt (District 141), far left, and legislative assistant Hayden Brodgon, far right, took part in the presentation inside the Capitol in Jefferson City.

Wright County veterans were officially recognized at the Missouri State Capitol back in late March for a day that was also designated as Wright County Day.
Those visiting the Capitol were greeted by State Rep. Melissa Schmidt (District 141).
As part of the visit, a State Resolution was presented to veteran Roscoe (Rocky) Griffin, who was joined by his wife, Karen, on behalf of all Wright County veterans.
The resolution notes that the “Missouri House of Representatives hold in high esteem those Wright County residents who admirably answered the patriotic call to national service through their enlistment or commissioning in any of the various branches that make up the United State Armed Forces.”
It goes on to recognize the men and women of the Armed Forces who sacrificed their lives and well being for the nation’s benefit.
Veterans were noted for their “love and unwavering service to their country, fellow citizens and to the freedoms and liberties” everyone enjoys today.
It was signed by State Rep. Melissa Schmidt and Speaker of the House Jonathan Patterson. Griffin said he has plans to get a copy of the resolution to every veteran in Wright County who wants one.
To order a complimentary copy, veterans can call him at 417-224-0565.
