Contracts awarded for MoDOT work in Wright County area

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has announced movement on several fronts affecting the Wright County area.
Contracts Awarded
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for the Southeast District during its regular meeting on March 5. Contracts included pavement resurfacing, the addition of turn lanes and pavement preservation treatments.
Contracts included the following:
• A $13,367,024 contract was to APAC-Central, Inc., for a pavement resurfacing on the following routes:
-Route 5 from Route 60 to Route A in Douglas and Wright counties,
-Route 5 from Route J to Route 60 in Laclede and Wright counties, and;
-Route F from Route 5 to Route EE in Wright County.
Additional information, regarding timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.

Route U Bridge
Replacement
MoDOT plans to replace a bridge located on Route U over the BNSF Railroad and East South St. in Wright County.
This structure is located between Commercial St. and Old Highway 5 in Mansfield.
Work to replace the bridge could begin as early as summer 2026.
During construction, Route U will be closed in the vicinity of the bridge for approximately four months.
In addition, East South St. will be closed near the bridge for a portion of construction.
Maps, plans and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation, or interested agency, will be available for public inspection and copying at the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Regional Office.
It is located at 3956 E. Main St., Willow Springs.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements.
Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Wednesday, March 26.
