Candidates file for upcoming April election

Several candidates have officially put their names on the ballot for the upcoming April 7 election in races throughout Wright County.
Mountain Grove
There will be one competitive race coming up for the City of Mountain Grove during the April election.
Incumbent Brenda Clark will face Adam Jenkins in Ward III, which is a two-year term race.
In Ward I, former alderman Webb Friend is the lone candidate to file. Incumbent Carolyn Mitchell did not declare her candidacy.
Interim Mayor Mark Bushong is the lone candidate to declare for the three-year mayoral race.
Others running unopposed are Jon Dewitt (Ward II, two-year term), Jamie Davis (Ward II, one-year term) and Dale Atchison (Ward IV, two-year term).
Also on the ballot will be Proposition U for the use tax.
Seven total candidates filed by the deadline to win one of three positions with the Mountain Grove R-III School Board.
Incumbents Sheena White and Ryan Morris will be running. The other candidates include McKenzie Williams, Kory Carpenter, James Ryan Allen, Katie Shannon and Cody Secrest.
Mansfield
In the City of Mansfield, the City Clerk reports there will be an election though only the incumbents filed by the deadline.
Andrew Sullivan is running for the alderman seat in Ward I and Luke Lawson is running in Ward II.
There will not be an election for the Mansfield R-IV School Board as all incumbents signed back up without opposition.
Those filing are Trish Watterson, Colton Jones and Courtnie Glenn.
Norwood
In the City of Norwood, there are a pair of two-year term alderman positions up for election.
Those filing are Larry Cochran and Denise Shores. Both candidates are incumbents.
The Norwood R-I School Board features three positions with three-year terms up for election.
Those filing to compete for three Board positions were incumbent Curtis Smith, Donavan Lee Finch, Isaac Lawson and Arie Wedge, Jr.
Hartville
All three incumbents filed for the three seats up for election in the City of Hartville.
City Clerk Carla Spooner says there will be no election.
Those filing for the three alderman at-large seats were Troy Kirk, Ashlynne Dickinson and Jarrett Calton.
There will be no election for the Hartville R-II School District as there were just four candidates filing for the four positions up for election.
The three-year term filers were Randy Dugger, Natalia Moncada-Harris and Nathan Culver. Mallory Barnes filed for the one, two-year term seat.
Other
There will be no election for the Manes R-V School Board as three incumbent Board members filed for the three seats up for election.
The list includes CaSondra Garrison, Willa Page and Cathy Hicks.
(No information was confirmed at press time for the Mountain Grove Special Road District race.)
