Around $40,000 raised for shelter at event

Around 160 attendees came together for the First Annual Grand Event fundraiser on Feb. 27 at The Candler in Mountain Grove. The event featured guest speakers, a live auction and a silent auction, which raised around $40,000 in funds that will go towards renovating and staffing a shelter for domestic violence and sexual abuse victims from Wright, Douglas, Texas and Ozark counties. “We would like to thank all of those who joined us to support our cause,” said Brenda Cameron, Southern Missouri Advocates, Inc. President. “It was impressive the support we got and an overwhelming support from all of the counties.”
