Panthers’ golf wins its invitational event

Mountain Grove’s golf team with a first place plaque after winning the tournament they hosted recently at Randel-Hinkle Golf Course.

The Mountain Grove golf team has experienced some success in recent events.
A couple of weeks ago, the Panthers won the Mountain Grove Invitational with a team score of 326 as four of the five golfers shot in the 80s.
Mason Henry led with an 80, Jack Tyrrell had an 81, Brady Harris an 82, Leedy Curtis an 83 and Brady Anderson shot a 91.
Last week, they played in the Mansfield Tournament at Randel-Hinkle Golf Course, the host site of their own event, and took second place in the team standings.
Harris was in 10th with an 86, Curtis shot an 89 for 12th and Anderson had a 91 for 14th place.
In a nine-hole SCA Championship cut short due to the weather, Henry earned first-team honors with an 80. Both Curtis (89) and Harris (92) earned honorable mention All-SCA honors while Tyrrell had a 997 and Anderson shot a 98.
In the Ava Invitational, the Panthers were led by Henry’s 79 for his sixth place finish. Aidan Kumpula had an 88, Curtis a 90, Anderson a 91 and Tyrrell a 94.
In a Houston nine-hole event on April 21, Henry was third, Kumpula was sixth and Curtis was seventh.
