Mountain Grove boys win SCA Conference title

The Mountain Grove boys cross country team after winning the South Central Association (SCA) Conference title in Willow Springs.
The Mountain Grove boys cross country team won the South Central Association (SCA) Conference championship last week after three runners finished in the top five at the race held in Willow Springs.
The Panthers earned a team score of 58, holding off second place Ava by 12. Trece White was third (18:29.53), Skyler Oliphant placed fourth (18:50.87) and Max Guilliams finished fifth (19:11.84) as all three runners earned All-SCA Conference honors.
Other runners included Mason Henry (22:04.78), Trigg DeVries (22:17.18), Masen Byerly (23:51.75) and Lincoln Zohner (26:53.88).
The Lady Panthers had three runners finish in the Top-10 to earn All-SCA Conference honors as Mountain Grove placed second in the team standings with 31 points, just five back of Houston.
Makynli Blackwel paced the Lady Panthers with a second place time of 23:29.89. Nyelli Soto was fifth (24:40.41) and Keena Roth was seventh (25:01.81).
Other runners included Chloe Bressie (30:56.56), Isabella Garner (32:15.72), Anna Farran (33:46.69) and Caitlin Warner (37:42.03).
A couple of days later, the boys and girls team competed in the Shannon County Showdown and had some success.
The Panthers were second in the team standings with 69 points after three runners finished in the Top-10. Oliphant was third (18:21.40), Guilliams was fifth (18:51.10) and White placed sixth (19:02.40).
The rest of the runners competing in the 70-runner field were Henry (21:45.20), DeVries (24:57.60) and Zohner (27:14.60).
Soto led the Lady Panthers with her eighth place time of 23:36.70. Roth was 10th (23:46.60) as the girls were fourth place in the team standings with 90 points. Other runners competing were Bressie (32:22.30), Garner (33:30.80), Farran (34:19.10) and Warner (36:25.20).
