Lady Panthers’ softball team gets Academic All-State honors

The Mountain Grove Lady Panthers’ softball team not only left their mark on the diamond this past season, they also made their presence known in the classroom.
The Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association (MHSFCA)  recognized Mountain Grove in having the third highest team G.P.A. in Class 2, which was a 3.842. Head coach Lori Hyde’s  players recognized include Payton O’Connor, Sophee Peterson, Sadie Schober, Makenzie Schober, Landry Golden, Gabby Miller, Stella Benson, Hadley Driskell, Chloe Slagle and Zoe Harrington.
The list of Top-10 schools and their G.P.A.’s include: 1) Springfield Catholic (3.974); 2) Portageville (3.900); 3) Mountain Grove (3.842); Potosi (3.820); 5) Forsyth (3.810); 6) Stockton (3.800); 7) Central (3.780); 8) Willow Springs (3.770); 9-tie) East Prairie and Diamond (3.761).
Mansfield honors
Mansfield had three players earn Academic All-State honors in Class 1 for head coach Hannah Campbell’s team.
Those players include Kyra Thompson, Kiersten Garrison and Laikyn Ball.
