Mansfield scores 100 points in opening win

The Mansfield Lions made the most of their first game on the basketball court this winter as they eclipsed the 100-point mark in a 101-64 road victory over Bradleyville last week.
The Lions made nine 3-pointers in the victory as six different players finished in double figures.
Mansfield put 34 points on the board in the first quarter with the help of Fisher Croney and Haven Proetz both scoring eight points.
Jace Headrick added seven points in the frame for the Lions.
Croney continued his big game in a 31-point second quarter as he scored nine points to give Mansfield a 65-32 halftime edge.
The Lions made four 3-pointers in the third quarter as they were led by seven points from both Malachi Ussery and Kellen Campbell.
Kaden Young scored four points in the final frame to help the Lions push their total over 100.
Croney had 17 points, seven rebounds and two blocks while Headrick had 17 points, five rebounds and five assists in the win.
Proetz had 15 points after making 4-of-6 3-pointers; Campbell scored 13 points, eight assists, five rebounds and two blocks; Young had 12; Ussery scored 11 points, six assists and four steals; both Brayden Short and Cole Whorton had seven points; while Kadyn Ivy scored two points.
The Lions will host Thayer on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. before hosing the 89th Annual Mansfield Invitational from Dec. 8-13.
