Lions fall to Forsyth, Headrick gets 15
On the 28th day since their last home game, the Mansfield Lions were on the road last Friday taking on a solid Forsyth team.
A slow start ended up being too much for them to overcome in a tough 67-52 loss to the Panthers.
Jace Headrick scored four of his team’s nine points in the opening frame, but the Lions were outscored, 18-9.
Headrick then took over the game in the second quarter, making two, 3-pointers and scoring 11 points to cut the lead to five at halftime.
Blake Henry scored six needed points and Charlie Grubbs added a 3-pointer in the third quarter.
Unfortunately, Forsyth increased their lead and cruised late to the 15-point win.
Headrick had a team-high 15 points.
Riley Stidham and Henry both scored 12 points for the Lions; Grubbs added seven; Kellen Campbell had four points; and Riley Pierson scored two points.
