Lady Lions knock off Lady Trojans

The Mansfield Lady Lions’ softball team hurt Sparta’s chances at winning a share of the Summit Conference title on April 28 when they picked up a 6-4 win over the Lady Trojans.
Addie Jones hit a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to centerfield to help her team seal the win.
She finished the game with four hits, three RBIs and two runs scored.
Laikyn Ball had one RBI and one run scored; Mylee Sullivan had one RBI; and Kiki Garrison scored twice.
Jones tossed seven innings on the mound and gave up four earned runs on two hits with 11 strikeouts and 12 walks.
Mansfield did drop their next Summit Conference game, 16-4, to Seymour.
Cayley Young had one RBI and one run scored and both Madisyn Bennett and Garrison had one RBI.
Jones gave up nine earned runs in two and two-thirds innings on the mound while Brooklyn Dugger gave up five earned runs.
