Lady Lions drop pair of softball games

The Mansfield Lady Lions’ softball team lost both of their contests last week.
They fell, 8-3, on Monday in Gainesville as the Lady Lions’ late two-run rally wasn’t enough.
Addie Jones had two hits, two RBIs and one run scored while Kayley Kingery and Madisyn Bennett each scored one run.
Jones tossed five innings and gave up six earned runs on eight hits with six strikeouts and four walks.
Brooklyn Dugger tossed one inning and gave up one earned run on two hits.
Then last Friday, the Lady Lions were crushed by Liberty (Mountain View), 25-8. The Lady Eagles scored 13 runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull away for good.
Jones had two hits, three RBIs and two runs scored; Bennett and Kingery had one RBI and one run scored; while Mylee Sullivan, Cayley Young, Laikyn Ball and Dugger each scored one run.
Jones tossed six innings and gave up 14 earned runs on 10 hits with eight strikeouts and 12 walks.
Dugger tossed an inning and gave up six earned runs on seven hits with one walk.
