Lady Lions’ volleyball gets three victories
The Mansfield Lady Lions’ volleyball team picked up three wins in four days after recently starting the season by dropping their first pair of matches.
Against Seymour back on Sep. 9, the Lady Lions traveled to the Lady Tigers’ gym and left with a 3-0 victory.
Mansfield won the first and third sets by a 25-19 margin and won set two, 25-18.
Laikyn Ball had four aces with 11 receptions, one kill and nine digs; Haven Tripp added two aces, four kills, 12 assists and six digs; Devynn Ball had one ace with five receptions, four kills and seven digs; Kayley Kingery went 20-for-22 serving with five aces, seven receptions and six digs; Elly Williams had two aces with nine receptions, seven kills, one block and six digs; Cali Lemons went 13-for-13 serving with three aces, four kills and four digs; and Miley Box was 7-for-7 with receptions, had on assist and two digs.
One day later, the Lady Lions won a five set thriller against Greenwood for a home victory.
Mansfield won 25-17 in set one, dropped the second set, 25-22, won the third set, 25-12, and lost the fourth set, 25-23.
The Lady Lions then held on late for a 15-13 win in the fifth set.
Box finished with four service receptions, one kill and four digs; Tripp added seven aces, five kills, 28 assists and 10 digs; Williams was 13-for-14 serving with two aces, 14 receptions, 10 kills, one block and seven digs; Kingery was 23-for-24 serving with three aces, seven kills and 15 digs; Laikyn Ball went 15-for-20 serving with three aces and 17 service receptions, eight kills and 20 digs; Lemons was 19-for-19 with two aces serving, six kills seven digs; while Devynn Ball was 10-for-13 serving with two aces, 16 receptions, two kills and13 digs.
Then on Sep. 12, the Lady Lions defeated Koshkonong, 3-0.
They won 25-22, 25-15 and 25-23.
