Mansfield, Hartville track at Fair Grove
Both the Mansfield and Hartville track and field programs competed in last week’s Fair Grove Invitational and enjoyed some success. The Lady Lions were led by Faith Clark, who won both the 800 meters (2:31.98) and the 1,600 meters (5:35.55).
Cali Lemons also had a big day as she won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.23 seconds. She was second in the 300-meter hurdles (50.44).
The Lions were led by Nolyn Corder, who won his 1,600 meters race with a time of 4:34.92. He was also second in the 3,200 meters (9:56.38.
Malachi Ussery had a big day as he was second in the 300-meter hurdles (42.99), second in the long jump (6.53 meters) and fourth in the triple jump (12.03 meters).
Riley Pierson just missed earning team points in two events. He was ninth in the 300-meter hurdles (47.70) and ninth in the long jump (5.39 meters).
As for Hartville, Kinley Cryer led the Lady Eagles with her fourth place time of 2:39.16 in the 800 meters. Carlyn Cantrell came in seventh (2:46.99).
McKenzi Stigall was sixth place overall in the 400 meters (1:07.70).
The 4x200-meter relay team was fifth place overall with a time of 1:58.17.
Alex Parsons led the Eagles with his seventh place finish in the 800 meter (2:18.33).
The 4x400-meter relay team was eighth place with a time of 4:21.02.
