Hartville wins four straight, gets win over Mansfield
The Hartville Eagles’ baseball team extended their wining streak to four straight after picking up three Summit Conference wins.
One big win came over rival Mansfield as a four-run sixth inning helped them to the 9-3 victory.
Gus Sinning had a big day with three hits, three RBIs and two runs scored; Cole Sinning had three hits and scored three times; Brodyn Hulsey had one RBI and one run scored; while both Maddox Jones and TJ Kline had one RBI.
On the mound, Gus Sinning tossed seven innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and two walks.
Mansfield’s offense was led by RBIs from both Aiden Garrison and Parker Moody. Bryston Kingery, Fisher Croney and Jaxon Clark each scored one run.
Garrison tossed four innings and gave up three earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and one walk. Kingery tossed two shutout innings and gave up four hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
One night earlier, the Eagles defeated Gainesville, 4-1. Gus Sinning and Cole Sinning each had one RBI and one run scored while Jones had one RBI. Truett Coryell tossed seven innings and gave up one earned run on seven hits with seven strikeouts and one walk.
Against Fordland earlier in the week, Hartville scored two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to rally for the win.
Gus Sinning had one RBI and one run scored; Cole Sinning had one RBI; and Heston Lowery, Kline and Coryell each scored one run.
On the mound, Lowery tossed six and a third innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and four walks. Gus Sinning tossed two-thirds of a scoreless inning and had one strikeout.
Hartville is now 6-2 this fall season.
