Eagles’ baseball beats Seymour

The Hartville Eagles’ baseball team picked up a big Summit Conference victory last week when they hosted Seymour and won, 4-2.
Hunter Walker had two hits, one RBI and scored twice; Heston Lowery had one RBI; while both Gus Sinning and Truett Coryell scored one run.
On the mound, Gus Sinning tossed seven innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits with 12 strikeouts and four walks.
Hartville ended the week in the Southern Invitational, but went 1-2 in the event.
Their lone win was a 13-4 decision over Dora.
Hartville scored six runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to pull away from the Falcons.
Cole Sinning had three RBIs and one run scored; Gavin Stigall, Gus Sinning and Coryell each had two RBIs and two runs scored; Walker had two RBIs; and Lowery had one RBI and scored twice.
Lowery tossed four innings with three earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and four walks. Stigall tossed a shutout inning of no-hit ball with one strikeout.
The Eagles did have a 5-1 loss to Ava as Walker had the lone RBI and Brodyn Hulsey scored the lone run.
Hulsey tossed six innings, but gave up no earned runs with nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Walker tossed one inning and gave up one earned run on one hit with one walk.
Hartville then led Bakersfield, 4-1 through six innings before the Lions scored eight runs in the top of the seventh inning for a 9-4 win.
Hulsey had one RBI and one run scored while Cole Sinning, Brock Jones and Coryell each had one RBI.
Coryell tossed five scoreless innings and gave up three hits with seven strikeouts and five walks. Walker tossed one and two-thirds innings and gave up one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
Stigall tossed a third inning of work and gave up one earned run on one hit.
