Alex Parsons qualfies for state after district race
Hartville’s Alex Parsons with his All-District medal.
One Hartville cross country runner will be representing the Eagles in the Class 2 State Championship race after earning that spot at the Class 2, District 2 race in Plato over the weekend.
In the race featuring 112 total runners, Alex Parsons finished in 23rd place with a time of 19:25.84 to qualify for state.
Caleb Dugger had the second best time of the Eagles as his 21:26.71 was good for 48th place. Wyatt Francis was 61st place with a 21:34.37 while Lane Hughes (23:02.72), Broc Roden (23:26.06) and Gustin Dennis (24:25.52) also competed.
As a team, the Eagles finished with 238 total points for 10th place overall.
Parsons will now compete in the Class 2 State Championships at Nov. 9 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia.
The program had no girls runners compete at districts.
