Urban Dogg expands with grooming service

In knowing that many of his customers have a challenging time getting on the busy schedule of area groomers, Urban Dogg co-owner Brad Taylor says his business is now filling that gap by starting a same-day grooming service at their location on E. 20th St. in Mountain Grove.
Customers can make appointments by calling 417-349-6738 to lock down same-day availability for most breeds during 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturdays. A self-wash service will also be available on Saturdays.
“This gives our customers a lot more flexibility,” Taylor said.
“It’s grooming at your convenience,” said Urban Dogg General Manager Dylan Royston.
Once in their system, a computer algorithm will also provide possible discounts depending on the day and time of service.
Urban Dogg is using the same head-to-toe service they’ve used as the largest privately owned grooming operation in the Denver, Colo. area.
One groomer has 12 years experience and another has 12-15 years, with two apprentices working as bathers. The grooming service includes using a deshedder, an ear cleaner, a blueberry facial that relaxes the dog, shampoo and conditioner, nail treatment, a teeth cleaner, and the cut will be made to specification. Other services include work with elderly dogs, deskunking and flea baths. Deshedders and cuts on cats along with nail capping will also be available.
“It’s all about convenience and their schedule,” Taylor said. “There’s just days you can’t take it any more.”
