Mansfield Lodge donates to backpack effort

The Mansfield Lodge No. 543 recently made their annual donation to the Lions Share Backpack Program. Members of Mansfield Lodge No. 543 generously donated funds and those funds were sent to Missouri Masonic Home, who has a program called the creating a partnership program that will triple the funds that are raised allowing them to donate a grand total of $10,500 to provide food for school children to take home in the Mansfield R-IV School District.
The Mansfield Masonic Lodge also donated 24 new coats for students in the Mansfield R-IV School District thanks to the funds donated by members of Mansfield Lodge No. 543 and from the aluminum can drive newly relocated to Randy’s Tire Shop in Mansfield. To date, they have collected and sold $1,526.41 worth of aluminum cans. That money is sent to the Masonic Home of Missouri, who triples it and sends it back for a grand total of $4,579.23. All 100% of that money has been donated either to the Mansfield school backpack program or is used to provide winter coats to any school children that are in need of a coat by way of the school nurse who distributes those.
They have temporarily relocated the can collection site a few hundred feet up the street to Randy’s Tire for the time being. As a reminder, they can only accept aluminum cans. Please do not leave any tin (food) cans, cat food cans, plastic, glass, clothing or trash. This drive is taken care of by volunteers who have to pick through and separate all of the other items listed above that are frequently left. Again, aluminum cans only please. Thank you again for all of the donations and help supporting a great cause for our community.
