Sandra Kay Lambert

Sandra Kay Lambert, 79 years, 10 months, and 26 days old, passed away peacefully on  Aug. 12, 2024 at Country Living Assisted living in Mountain Grove. Sandra was born Sep. 17, 1944 in Davenport, Iowa to Gordon and Catherine May (Appleby) Downing. On Dec. 29, 1961, Sandra “Sandy” and Verlin “Dain” Lambert  were united in marriage in Rock Island, Ill.   Sandy worked for Ozark Action Head Start from 1975 to 2012. She loved the Head Start children and staff. They were like family to her.  She loved playing cards but hated to lose. She also liked watching the Kansas City Chief, St. Louis Cardinals and Professional Bull Riding. Her greatest joy was to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She loved to decorate for the holidays and buying gifts for her family.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dain; her son-in-law, Robby Dean Smith; sister, Sharon Dobbs; brother, Robert Kent; brother-in-law, Don Dobbs; niece, Patty Goodwin; and a nephew, Skip Dobbs. She is survived by her daughter, Dana Smith; two grandsons, Ryan Smith and husband, Houston Smith, and Brandon and wife, Breanne Smith; four great granddaughters, Kinley, Ally, Macy and Sidney Smith; two sisters, Jackie Ellison and Kathy Kappler; nieces,nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Visitation/Celebration of Life will be Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home from 6-7:30 p.m. Cremation services are being conducted for Sandra by Clinkingbeard Funeral Homes, Inc.
