Ussery, Campbell get Class 2 All-State track medals

Nearly one month earlier, Mansfield senior Malachi Ussery broke his arm at a meet in Mountain Grove.
One month later, Ussery overcame his adversity and found his way on the podium at the Class 2 State Championships held May 22-23 in Jefferson City.
Ussery’s leap of 21’8.25” helped him earn a third place medal for All-State honors.
His teammate Kellen Campbell also earned All-State honors as he placed seventh in the triple jump event after a leap of 12.90’.
Fisher Croney finished 11th in the high jump after clearing 1.78 meters.
Their combined eight points gave the Lions a 33rd place in the team standings.
Addie Jones competed in the Class 2 State Championships and finished 14th in the long jump event (4.75 meters).
